After coming to this practice for over 6 years, time to find another. Though I did find my dentist & the hygienist to be fine, the last 3 appointments for cleaning, the hygienist has called me very early in mornings on the day of my appointment asking me to come in the morning instead of my requested afternoon appointments. Per dentist request, I have to “pre-med” with 2000 mg of antibiotics one hour before my appointment. I’m a senior citizen who takes many prescription drugs in the morning & therefore need to take these antibiotics apart from my morning prescriptions! So, NO, I can’t change to this morning. I find this very rude & it’s not my fault you have many openings this morning my dear. So after pre-medicating today at 1:00, I get to my 2:00 appt only to be told that they won’t honor my new this year insurance (which includes Dental finally!). Was told they don’t take Any Medicare insurance plans. What!! Sorry but senior citizens on social security fixed income need more than anything some dental coverage & No, I do not want your Smile Care plan. Been told about it many times but it’s still costing me too much!

Highly recommend this practice!! So thankful for Maddie (front desk) for referring me. She has been wonderful in following up after a root canal retreatment (somewhere else) and helping get me scheduled. Met Shannon (RDH) and Dr. Leskiv for my consult. Both were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have terrible dental anxiety, but they made me feel comfortable. Thank you!!

I went for a cleaning and was advised I would need my wisdom teeth extracted which I was aware. At a previous visit, I had been given a referral but had not gotten to scheduling an appointment. When I went for my most recent cleaning the dentist, Vasyl Leskiv, came to inspect my teeth. The hygienist made him aware I would need a referral for my wisdom teeth extraction to which he responded after looking at my X-rays, “No, that’s not necessary. We can do them here in house.” The hygienist seemed surprised and said she wasn’t aware he did extractions to which he responded he could. He also then added that since all of the teeth were above gum line and had fully come through, it would not be an issue. The surprise in the hygenist’s demeanor should have been warning enough, but I agreed and made my appointment. Before beginning, Dr. Vasyl Leskiv started off by saying, “We will start with top and see how that goes. Then, we will see if we will continue. I was very confused by this seeing as he had said before that he could do these extractions and that mine was a simple extraction. So, why the issue now? I was provided anesthetic and he began to work on the first tooth and that being the only tooth he extracted in 41 minutes. Doctor seemed to struggle extracting and I began to feel sharp pains from the root of my tooth going up the side of my head. After removing this tooth, the doctor left abruptly and acted impatiently with me saying he “could not numb” me and he could not remove the rest . Why? Why would you offer a service you could not perform? Why are you unable to properly numb me? The doctor left the room and would not say another word to me or even make eye contact. The assistants seemed to scramble but no one really explained what was going on. No one was giving me information. I was given a bag with some gauze and a paper with aftercare instructions. Nothing about what I could or could not eat. No verbal summary of what to expect, the next steps, and no pain medication. I reached out to another dentist due to the pain and feeling neglected and lost in the process. I was asked who did the extraction and that the outside of my face was so bruised due to the traumatic mannerism used to extract the tooth. I was also advised that they could also see where the anesthetic was injected and that even this was done inaccurately. I was told that maybe this dentist doesn’t perform extractions often. So, again. Why offer to do it and seem so sure? Why should I be your Guinea pig? I have always enjoyed Winchester Dental so much and every visit in fact but, I am having very serious thoughts of never returning. This doctor acted very coldly following and I felt rushed out of the dentist office still dripping blood down my chin with a handful of wadded paper towels I was given. Oh, but they were very prompt with collecting the payment which they charged almost the full price of all four for the one tooth. Beware. I think this office is more interested in what they can gain financially it seems than the actual best interest of the patient.
